I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Miami and a Master’s Degree from New England Conservatory, both in Jazz Vocal Performance. I have been teaching since 2010 in my own private studio, as well as with New England Conservatory, The New School, Wellesley High School, Franklin School for the Performing Arts, and The Community Music Center of Boston. I am certified in all 3 levels of Somatic Voicework™, which is a body-based, functional approach to teaching all styles of contemporary singing with vocal health at the forefront.

I love singing and teaching all styles of music including, but not limited to, jazz, pop, rock, country, experimental, punk, indie, musical theatre, classical music, and styles from around the world! In addition to repertoire, I enjoy working on songwriting, improvisation, music theory, audition prep, and music production/recording (Ableton, GarageBand, Protools, Analog techniques). In addition, I play various synthesizers and teach beginning/intermediate piano.

I create lesson plans that are unique, age-appropriate, and catered to the interests of each individual student. I want to create a fun, playful, creative atmosphere while also fostering the needs and goals of my students.

I have a brick-and-mortar location in Ridgewood, Queens, and teach online.

“Carrie is an amazing teacher! She solves vocal issues quickly and spot-on, always through a transformative and supportive approach. She is super smart about how to best actualize original songs. I highly recommend working with her” -Charles D.

“I absolutely LOVED my voice lessons with Carrie. She’s so much fun and incredibly knowledgeable. She let me determine the pace and focus of our lessons, and quickly learned any silly song I wanted to work on. I’m working to help my mom get a therapeutic YouTube channel started and Carrie helped me write and record a jingle for it. I had never written music before in my life and Carrie helped me come up with something I’m really proud of! She’s great about meeting you where you are (skill level wise) so she’ll be able to work with you no matter what skill level you’re bringing to the table. If you’re in the market for a voice teacher, look no further. Carrie is as good as they come!” - Elyssa S.

“Carrie is a fantastic teacher! I had never taken vocal lessons before and she gave me a whole set of exercises and warm ups to get me started, and working through songs that i chose she got me to approach my singing technique in a whole new way. She makes lessons fun and relaxed, and explains concepts and practices in a super clear way. Highly recommended!” - Mike E.

“Our kids were incredibly fortunate to work with Carrie learning piano and voice for several years. During that time, they each grew significantly as musicians and now have a strong foundation that we hope carries them to a lifelong love of music.

Carrie is particularly gifted at knowing how to connect with her students on an individual level, figuring out how they learn best, how to keep them enthusiastic and motivated, and how to have fun. Our kids, who have very different personalities and learning styles, saw their skills and confidence grew exponentially under Carrie’s guidance. As their musical interests evolved, Carrie was able to pivot smoothly to keep them engaged and growing. We highly recommend Carrie and truly enjoyed working with her.” - John S.

“Voice lessons with Carrie were fun, informative and completely worthwhile. She was very sensitive both to my individual needs and helped me solidify broader, over-arching goals for our lessons. In addition to being an absolute blast to work with, she is the type of teacher who will keep you constantly inspired by the sheer beauty and skill of her singing and her musicianship. I highly recommend studying with her if you have the chance!” - Travis B.
